Good day to all my food lovers! You know what I’m here for, so let’s talk about it . . . FOOD! This blog post is a throwback to my impromptu lunch with my Uncle Andre in June at J. Paul’s in Georgetown. Actually, we were still celebrating my birthday, but Uncle Andre didn’t know it yet; I was just getting him started 😂. Any who, J. Paul’s is an old gem that resides on M Street in the lovely Georgetown section of DC.
Uncle Andre was prepared for a turn up when the fat kid was prepared to eat. I came with a huge appetite and nothing more. After scoping out the scene, fellow diners were enjoying fresh seafood so I decided to start with oysters and shrimp cocktail. Anytime oysters are on the menu and I’m allowed to order per piece; I would typically, do just that – 2 oysters coming up alongside fresh horseradish and cocktail sauce! Briny, chewy, and satisfying! The shrimp is nothing to boast about, however it was tasty and steamed to perfection. Diners, you do have the option to have the shrimp cocktail prepared chilled or steamed. Peel, dip, eat . . . BON APETIT!! 🍤😋
Enough of the seafood . . . let’s get into the J. Paul’s Combo: Ribs, Crab Cake, French Fries, and Cole Slaw! I see why this combo is a fan favorite!! 😍 Falling off the bone ribs with its sweet & tangy BBQ sauce; crab cake with ABSOLUTELY NO FILLER – ALL MEAT; alongside a refreshing spiked Arnold Palmer to help wash it down.
😱😱😱Writing this blog post is enticing me to take a visit again very soon and perhaps I will have some fellow diners to join me for this magnificent meal. Happy Hour, Lunch, Brunch, Dinner, Late Night eats, Raw Bar options are available at this laid-back neighborhood bar. Going shopping soon? Don’t forget to stop by J. Paul’s for fresh seafood and savory plates to satisfy your foodie palate. HAPPY EATING!!!
