Given how many pages Shiina devotes to the hand-holding debacle over twenty across two chaptersit'll be interesting to see how the page pacing goes when these two actually manage to kiss each other I wish Sawako had been brave enough to tell her parents on her own that she was dating Kazehaya then she would have spared both him and herself the awkward revelation and introduction occurring at the same time.

Yes, I am His commitment to her and himself gets to the point that he's putting her on a pedestal, one where he can't potentially hurt or break her, and neither of them honestly want that kind of distance separating them. A relationship means that you risk making mistakes and having arguments.

If Kazehaya and Sawako don't "get" that soon, then they may just head down the road of breaking up. If we were a boy and a girl, we would fall in love.

Chizu: We would. It's just a nice kind of revelation between friends: "Oh, if things had been different, then maybe we would have been perfect for each other. I highly recommend it to people who are looking for a shoujo manga they can love and cherish and maybe even analyze.

Series Review: What I like about the series the most is that while some things about the story seem a bit hard to believe mostly Sawako's social awkwardness and utter lack of perceptionis that once you accepted things proceed in a very realistic fashion.

One of the things I love the most is that the story does not dive head first into a romance plot, but lets the main character come to terms with finding her place in the classroom and with her new-found friends first. Most appreciated is that Series Review: What I like about the series the most is that while some things about the story seem a bit hard to believe mostly Sawako's social awkwardness and utter lack of perceptionis that once you accepted things proceed in a very realistic fashion.

Most appreciated is that most of the time the characters actually talk to each other when it comes to misunderstandings instead of just letting them stew until they absolutely have to be dealt with. A huge plus is that the humour of the series actually makes me smile, even laugh at times and that it deals with growing up and deciding on what to do with your future in a realistic way.

What grates on my nerves quite a bit are the ever-present gender stereotypes that come up time and time again, especially when the plot finally moves towards a romance plot for not only Sawako, but her two best friends as well. Especially the handling of Ayane and Chizu's romance is not quite to my liking. But well maybe I just wish that Ayane was gay and Chizu could have stayed a tomboy not interested in romance for a bit longer ;D And what I love about the series the most is the deep friendship of three rather different girls that mean the world to each other!

Overall I'd give the series 3,5 to 4 stars some individual volumes are better some are more average. Usually this type of slice-of-life, romance is not my cup of tea, but Kimi ni todoke manages to be charming, realistic and quite funny Oct 06, Lou Lou and Life rated it really liked it Shelves: coming-of-agefavouritesfavouritesshojocontemporarymangarea romance.

Are kimi ni todoke when do they start dating seems excellent idea

This volume is a massive step for Kuronuma and Kazehaya's relationship. Not only do they hold hands, but Kazehaya meets Kuronuma's family which is a massive step seeing as they have JUST started to go out. But this volume was filled with such sweet moments. The hand holding scene made me want to jump with joy you also know that this is a shojo manga when the characters ONLY hold hands at volume 12 hahaand I really liked seeing the awkw This manga series continues to be really cute and sweet.

The hand holding scene made me want to jump with joy you also know that this is a shojo manga when the characters ONLY hold hands at volume 12 hahaand I really liked seeing the awkward dynamic between Kuronuma and Kazehaya now that they are a romantic couple. They don't really know how to act and I think it is a realistic interpretation when friends become lovers.

I also really loved seeing now Chizu and Yano became friends. The series is really starting to develop the secondary characters and I can't wait for the focus to shift towards these characters more! Overall I loved reading this volume even though it did put me in a bit of a reading slump because I had read so many books from the same series. I think I will take a break from this series though for now.

In the future I'll come back to it and love it again with a massive passion! Jul 09, Miss Ryoko rated it really liked it Shelves: library-bookmanga. I really like Sawako's parents a lot!

This was another cute, sweet volume. But I'm sad the story is just sort of coasting at this point. It's just about what they're up to each day. Nothing really exciting or jaw dropping is happening. So I'm a bit bummed about that. But, I am still enjoying the story and the great characters.

I just wish something big would happen. But for now, here are two very fun and cute chapter title pages! Look at little Sawako!! So cute!! Sep 05, A. I mean, seriously? I mean, I'm not a PDA person myself, but hand-holding is honestly one of the most harmless, non-explicit forms of physical affection there is! I mean, it takes context, but That aside, the meeting of Kazehaya and Sawako's parents goes over just as you'd expect: the dad's especially protective of her, but there's really nothing to fight with regarding Kazehaya.

He's a great guy, kind and well-mannered, and there's nothing for any doting dad to complain about. All in all, an okay volume, but nothing really crucial happens here, I don't think.

something is

Sawako has hit a bit of a slump. She's finally gotten what she wanted she and Kazehaya are dating but to echo what Yano said in an earlier volume, timing is essential in relationships and I'm concerned that she's not actually ready to date yet. She's stumbling roughly through a lot of firsts without any self-confidence and is freaking out, relying heavily on others to reassure her for every small decision.

It Volume 12 covers summer break, and this is my least favorite part of the story so far. It's very realistic and I feel for her I've been there too, girl but it's painful to read.

Jul 14,   I forget what chapter though. Well, she's just like that. She's used to having no friends (and avoided) and this is a big change for her. She can't just up and start being a typical popular girl, now can she? That would freaking kill Kimi ni Todoke and its awkward characters! Thankfully in the last chapter we get a break from the present and learn about how Yano and Chizu became friends.

I do wish that we'd gotten this information sooner I think it would have fit in well in a couple of other places earlier in the story but I'm just glad we got it at all.

Since the main characters' romance is making me feel weary, I am hoping for more side character focus or Sawako growing a bit in the next volume. May 18, Elena rated it really liked it Shelves: kimi-ni-todokecomics-manga.
